A simple way to create a beautiful and stylish lampshade that costs a penny

Not enough money for a new lamp or just want to make it yourself? You only need a skein of yarn, glue and a rubber ball. Build a beautiful stylish lampshade, which will cost a penny for a couple of days. Do you think this is too good to be true? Then carefully study this master class and get to work!

You will need:

  • cotton yarn (you can take acrylic, but it is natural cotton that ignites the worst);
  • PVA glue;
  • inflatable ball (can be replaced with a balloon of circular shape

Such a set is quite enough for the manufacture of lampshade for the finished lamp. If the lamp needs to be made from scratch - get a cartridge and fixture in the electrics shop. It will be much cheaper than buying a real chandelier.

Textile lamp is better to complete the LED lamp.It does not heat up, which means the risk of fire will be reduced to zero, moreover, it is economical.

Step 1: Prepare space for work

It is better to take everything in advance that can come in handy, turn on scissors, towel garbage bag and other necessary devices. No need to be distracted. From a large garbage bag, you can build an apron that will protect you from splashing glue.

Use the marker to mark the holes where you want to leave spaces. There must be one at the bottom, the second at the top.

Step 2: Prepare the glue solution

Dilute the PVA glue with water in a 1: 1 ratio to make it easier to moisten the cotton thread. Mix glue and water in a bowl or container in which your ball of yarn is placed completely.

Step 3: Dipping Yarn

Lower the ball of thread into the container. Unwind it carefully so that the glue is well impregnated with a thread.

Step 4: Shaping the Lampshade

To do this, wrap the yarn soaked in glue around the inflated ball. Try to distribute the thread evenly, avoiding the lower and upper area. Tighten the thread tightly so that it does not sag.

Step 5: Fix the result

After all the thread was on the ball, pour it on top with the remaining solution.

Step 6: Drying

Suspend the ball so that it does not touch anything, and let it dry for two days.

Step 7: Get the ball

If you want to reuse the ball, blow it through the valve (some of the balls can only be blown off with a pump). If you have an inexpensive ball, or the ball is no longer needed, you can just burst it. Remove the ball from the lampshade.

Step 8: Add an electrician

Carefully thread the wire with the chuck in the lampshade, fasten the lamp from the bottom. It's very simple.

Your lamp is ready. You can hang it on the ceiling.
