Remote-controlled Searchlight

In this workshop, I will redo the searchlight with a motion sensor on a remote-controlled searchlight. The motion sensor is nice, of course, but in some places it is not as useful as remote activation. I make this lamp for the garage, where it is always dark, and where there are a lot of “blind” zones if you use a motion sensor. If you use the spotlight without any modifications, then in order for it to light up, you must get into the sensor's range, which is not always possible. And while you get to this zone, you can break your legs. Also, visibility for the sensor can block objects, cars, distance - a long corridor, for example.

Another thing is the remote sensor. When he wanted to turn on, he wanted to turn it off. A key fob - a switch is always on a belt or attached to keys, which is very, very convenient. There are many advantages, where you can use this design a lot. And I took the switch with two consoles. Another for the father. There are many options. The main thing is that the remote control switch is designed for a voltage of 220 volts and a current of 10 amps.

What do we need?

Searchlight with remote control
There are a lot of different remote switches for aliexpress. Your task is to choose it to be at a voltage of 220-230 volts (as most of the switches are 12 volts) and a current that will be more than the current consumed by your searchlight. Here are cheaper models without a case, with one remote control, etc. - Cheaper option with one remote control in case. For all options see. Tools available:screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, etc. We disassemble the motion sensor. Unsolder the wires from the motion sensor. I had a passport from the searchlight, and I know where the wires go that went to the sensor. You can disassemble the searchlight if you do not know where and what the wires come from.

Be careful when performing any manipulations! The voltage of 230 volts is life threatening. This is such an easy upgrade, and we succeeded. I hope you find it useful.
